The unique national park Tierra del Fuego, with its mountains, forests, and sea sights is located 11km away from Ushuaia. By bus, you leave the city towards southeast, along the foothill of mount Susana, witness of the prisoners'  work and life in the old penitentiary of Ushuaia. The route continues across the valley of the Pipo river. Along the river you may see the tracks of the Southern Fuegian railway, the "End of the World Train". Arriving to the Ensenada bay, you will recognise the Redonda island and on the other coast of the Beagle channel you will see the snowy Sampaio mountain range (Chile). Leaving the Ensenada bay behind, you reach the Roca lake, crossing a narrow path in the forest enjoying all kinds of species of the regional vegetation.

On the shore of the Roca lake, you go for a walk along the lake and the Lapataia river, which has its source in the lake. The Cóndor hill, the natural border with the republic of Chile, dominates this area. Driving along the Green lagoon and the Black lagoon you enter the area of the Lapataia bay. Here you will have the possibility to do two different walks: one along the Black lagoon across an enchanted peat bog and the other one to the beaver dams. The second walk leads you directly to the Lapataia bay which is the end of the road. In this bay, the catamarans will be waiting for you to embark and sail through the Beagle channel. You sail near the coast of the national park. At Punta Tortuga you will leave the Ensenada bay and enter the Beagle channel. Sailing across the Bridges archipelago, you will be able to observe large colonies of seabirds and sea lions. The catamarans bring you back to Ushuaia.
