Beagle Channel Boat Ride

This popular boat voyage gives you the unique opportunity to see more of the Patagonian fauna. The cruise takes you right into the middle of the Beagle channel to the lively Sea Lions rocky island and to the Birds island. The pleasant voyage starts at the harbour of Ushuaia and follows the Argentine coastline first. If the weather is good, you will enjoy spectacular views to the Mount Olivia, the “Le Martial” glacier as well as the city of Ushuaia. Then it goes towards a small group of islands called “Les Ecleraires”. On one of these islands, there is a picturesque lighthouse which is often seen on postcards and it is considered a landmark of the Beagle channel. The Sea Lions’ island is not far away from there and the catamaran gets very close to it, being a pleasure to observe the behaviour of these animals. The voyage continues to the next group of islands. There you will see many cormorants. Again you will be able to observe everything very closely. These birds are huge and they do not seem to be disturbed by the catamaran and its passengers. After having seen these exciting places, the catamaran will finally proceed back to Ushuaia. |
