Punta Loma & Estancia San Guillermo

The journey goes over an unpaved road until you reach the sea lion reserve of Punta Loma. This reserve protects one of the few sea lion colony of the region. You will be able to observe this lively colony from a balcony on the top of a cliff. You will spot the animals not only on the narrow beach but also in the crystal clear water of the Atlantic ocean. Watching these animals in their natural environment is a unique and entertaining experience. After this stop the tour continues and brings you to a typical Patagonian estancia. The owners welcome you with a cup of tea or coffee. They will explain to you the habits of a Patagonian estancia and its people, and will show you how they shear the wool of the sheep, the main product of all Patagonian estancias. If you wish you can also go for a short walk. A small trail brings you round an interesting circuit and you will have the chance to learn more about the arid landscape and its flora. With luck, you can see the domesticated Guanacos. If they are around, they will observe you with great curiosity. This is a unique opportunity to see these usually shy animals. After this very pleasant visit you will be driven back to Puerto Madryn. |
