Estancia Don José
This friendly ranch is located only 3km away to the west of the town of Río Mayo in the south-west of the Chubut Province. As many other estancias along the Route 40, it offers the perfect shelter where to stay when travelling during this long journey. It is a typical Patagonic estancia where sheep is a very important activity. However, this ranch is under the Guenguel Project which supports the breeding of guanacos and choiques for sustainable production of their fiber. Guanacos are Lamas Guanicoes and their fur is very useful. The temperature of the area is between 10 and 30ºC which allows amusing walks around the area. Its owners take care of the guests, personally. Delicious homemade food complete the offer.
