Tren de la Costa - Tigre Station

Delta of the Paraná River

You will leave Buenos Aires by bus, crossing the northern neighbourhoods and parks of the capital and see the residential area of Olivos with the President's residence. From Olivos, a modern train takes you along the river de la Plata, with views towards wealthy mansions, avenues lined by colourful trees, and recreation facilities in the picturesque village of San Isidro, where you will have a short time on your own. The train will take you then to the river coast to Tigre on the edge of the enormous delta of the Paraná river. You will board a typical river boat for a 60 minutes cruise along the canals and streams that thread their way among many islands. The Paraná river starts far in the North, in Brazil, South of the Amazon basin, and ends in this vast delta, before it flows into the river de la Plata. The vegetation in the delta is dense and many porteños (inhabitants of Buenos Aires) have made sailing clubs and weekend homes, built on stilts because of frequent flooding. The way back to the hotel is along the Panamericana highway.
