Tasting the Andes

Day 01

Iguazú

Arrival at Iguazú airport. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight at Puerto Iguazú.
Day 02

Iguazú

Visit to the spectacular waterfall. There are many small tracks through the forest on the Argentine side. Unexpected views to the big waters are appreciated all the time. A short ride on the National park railway leads to the pathway to the highest individual fall, the Devil's Gorge.  Experience the falls from below, a lot of fun unless you mind getting wet. Overnight at Puerto Iguazú.
Day 03

Buenos Aires

In the morning, visit to the Brazilian side of the falls enjoying a big overview of the huge falls. A path leads you to the bottom of the falls. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport and afternoon flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer to your hotel. There is an optional tango show in the evening. Overnight at Buenos Aires.
Day 04

Buenos Aires

In the morning, city tour of Buenos Aires. Visit the historical centre of the town at Plaza de Mayo, proceed to the old harbour with its colorful houses of La Boca, see the wide avenues, lush green parks and artificial lakes of Palermo and eventually visit the famous monumental cemetery of  La Recoleta. Overnight at Buenos Aires.
Day 05

Buenos Aires

Day at leisure. Buenos Aires is a very European city and invites to walk around. There are many small and hidden places where you can walk and watch the lively atmosphere of this metropolis. If an optional excursion is required, a local guide will be able to assist. There is a choice of a half-day excursion to the Parana River Delta Tigre or a visit to the famous Argentine estancias (incl. BBQ lunch). In the evening, there is an invitation for a tango show at one of the most famous Tango Bars. Overnight at Buenos Aires.
Day 06

Buenos Aires
Bariloche

Transfer to the domestic airport and flight to Bariloche. Transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will explore the Llao Llao Peninsula. Beautiful scenery can be observed over the lake and the national park. But the landscape can even be more appreciated from the top of mount Campanario. You will enjoy a vision of 360 degrees. Overnight at Bariloche.
Day 07

Bariloche
Puerto Varas (Chile)

Short transfer to Puerto Pañuelo. A unique boat and bus journey along different lakes and mountains to Chile starts here. The journey takes an entire day enjoying spectacular mountain scenery. Border control will be done during the trip. In the end of the afternoon, arrival at Puerto Varas, a small Chilean village on the shores of a beautiful lake and with great view to the volcano Osorno. Overnight at Puerto Varas.
Day 08

Puerto Varas

Day at leisure in order to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. There is a public bus service to go to the small village of Frutillar. German immigrants have settled here. Overnight at Puerto Varas.
Day 09

Puerto Montt
Santiago de Chile

Transfer to Puerto Montt, an important sea port village at the Pacific ocean. During a short city tour, the highlights and the fish market of this busy town are visited. Then transfer to Santiago. In the afternoon, visit to the most important places of the Chilean capital city. From San Cristobal hill there is a great view to the Andean mountains. Overnight at Santiago.
Day 10

Santiago

Day at leisure or optional tour to Valparaiso. This is the most important harbour city in Chile. The colorful houses are on a hill around a huge bay. Funicular lifts transport the people up and down the busy town. There is a visit to Viña del Mar, the most famous seaside resort in the country. The restaurants are well-known for their delicious sea food. After this interesting day, ride back to Santiago. Overnight at Santiago de Chile.
Day 11

Santiago
Mendoza

A great mountain trip is on today's programme. Climb to El Portillo (an important ski resort in winter time) along a windy road up to the border with Argentina. After the border formalities, ride to Puente del Inca where the antique stone bridge can be seen. There is a possibility to enjoy a short hike to a lookout platform. From here, the highest peak of the Americas, the Aconcagua mountain, can be observed. Ride down to Mendoza arriving in the late afternoon. Overnight at Mendoza.
Day 12

Mendoza

Mendoza is an expanding and very pleasant city. Some people consider it the nicest city of Argentina. Rainfall is rare, but irrigation has turned the area into an oasis of fruit trees and vineyards. In the morning there is a city tour. The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight at Mendoza.
Day 13

Mendoza

Mendoza is the most famous vine growing area. The 61% of the Argentine production comes from here. The most important bodegas are only a few kilometres from the town. There is an invitation to visit some of them. Experts explain the procedures, there is a tour through the cellars and the tasting of wine. In the evening, farewell dinner at a beautiful bodega restaurant. Overnight at Mendoza.
Day 14

Mendoza
Buenos Aires

Transfer to the airport and flight to Buenos Aires. Connection to Ezeiza international airport. Departure to your home country or continuation of your own programme.
