Government
República Argentina is the official name of the country. The form of government has traditionally been a representative, republican federal system. There are two legislative houses, the Senate has 72 seats and the Chamber of Deputies 254. By the 1853 Constitution, the country is divided into a Federal Capital (the city of Buenos Aires) and 23 Provinces. Each Province has its own Governor, Senate, and Chamber of Deputies. The municipal government of the Federal Capital is exercised by a Mayor. The Constitution grants the city autonomous rule. The country president is elected for a mandate of four years. Only one re-election of other four years term is allowed.
